Dust Devils hold off Eugene for win

The Tri-City Dust Devils finished off their season-opening, eight-game road trip with a 7-5 Northwest League victory on Monday against the Eugene Emeralds.

Wilson Soriano and Chris O’Dowd had two hits each as Tri-City’s offense put together a nine-hit attack.

Michael Benjamin and O’Dowd each drove in two runs for the Dust Devils.

The Dust Devils (5-6) built a 6-0 lead before Eugene (5-6) came storming back.

Tri-City reliever Jarad McCrummen picked up his first victory of the season, going 11⁄3 innings.

Teammate Trent Daniel pitched the final 11⁄3 innings to earn his first save of the season. Ronnie Richardson and Henry Charles had two hits each for Eugene.

The Dust Devils come home today for the first of a three-game set against the Everett AquaSox. First pitch at Gesa Stadium is at 7:15 p.m.
