Businesses team up to protect deputies from skin cancer

June 24, 2013

The Tri-Cities Cancer Center and Columbia Basin Hematology & Oncology are teaming up to protect Benton County Sheriff’s deputies from skin cancer. They’re providing baseball caps with the sheriff’s office logo, as well as sunscreen.

“Law enforcement and others who spend a considerable amount of time driving for a living have an increased risk of skin cancers,” a cancer center news release said. A presentation to sheriff’s officials is Wednesday.
