Camp Patriot to hold annual July 4 fun run in Pasco

— The annual Camp Patriot 4th of July Fun Run will start at 7:30 a.m. at Pasco Softball complex, 6520 Homerun Road in Pasco.

So far, a group of about 25 will complete the 5K with a 100-pound backpack starting at 7:30 a.m.

The color guard and national anthem will begin at 7:55 a.m. with the 5K/1M fun run starting at 8 a.m.

The cost to participate is $25 for adults, including a T-shirt, and $15 for children ages 12 and under.

All proceeds support Camp Patriot, a nonprofit that takes disabled veterans on outdoor adventures.

Those interested can register online until June 29 at www.camppatriotfunrun.org. There will be packet pick up and registration noon to 5 p.m. July 3 at Runners Soul, at 5020 W Clearwater Ave., in Kennewick. Day of event registration will start at 7 a.m.
