Dead man found just outside of Toppenish

— A dead man was found in the 900 block of Washington Street in Toppenish on Saturday.

The Hispanic male, who appears to be in his 20’s or 30’s, appears to have suffered a head injury, according to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.

Toppenish police found the body just north of city limits, and have turned the case over to the sheriff’s office, according to a news release.

The victim has not been identified yet, officials said. He was wearing gray sweatpants and a black jersey with a “Los Angeles” logo.

Officials believe the body had been at the location since sometime during the night, according to a news release.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
