Letter: Grandview memorial inspired Gold Star Mothers Plaque in Pasco

June 23, 2013

As the Gold Star Mothers Memorial chairwoman, I am writing to respond to letter from the gentleman from Grandview regarding the Gold Star Mothers Memorial.

The Memorial recently unveiled in Pasco had the official Gold Star Mothers Plaque as part of the memorial. This plaque was the first time it had been used in Washington.

We agree with the writer that it is nice to have the one done in Grandview by the Eagle Scout. Job well done. The memorial in Grandview was why American Legion Post 34 wanted to bring the first Gold Star Mothers Memorial to the Tri-Cities.

The Herald did a great job in covering our unveiling. We appreciate all the support that we received to complete this project for the Tri-City communities.
