7 Ryan Warner P

Height: 6-7 Weight: 195

Age: 19 Bats/Throws: left/left

Hometown: Colorado Springs, Colo. Birthday: Jan. 21

Warner was named Gatorade’s Colorado Player of the Year at Pine Creek High in 2012, then taken in the third round of last year’s MLB draft by the Rockies. He was undefeated in 14 appearances last year at Grand Junction, going 3-0 with 36 strikeouts, but he also had a 7.00 ERA and gave up a team high nine home runs. This year, he’s a little bit wiser. “I was really just learning how to pitch,” he said. “In high school, you just throw as hard as you can and try to throw it by everybody. You come here and everybody you’re facing was the best (at their school).” Warner uses a two- and four-seam fastball that tops out around 89 mph, plus a changeup and a curve to keep hitters off balance.
