NWL: Dust Devils hold off Emeralds 4-3

Sean Dwyer manufactured a run in the seventh inning to put the Tri-City Dust Devils (4-4) on top for good in a 4-3 victory Friday over the Eugene Emeralds (3-5) in Northwest League action.

With the game tied at 2-2, Dwyer led off the seventh with a single. He then stole second and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt. He then scored on a wild pitch.

Dwyer finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored on the night, while Patrick Hutcheson had a double and a run scored, and Ashley Graeter was 1-for-2 with an RBI triple.

Shawn Stuart (1-0) earned the win in relief of Johendi Jiminian, who pitched 5 1/3 solid innings. Trent Blank earned his fourth save of the season with a perfect ninth.

The teams continue their five-game series at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.
