NWL: Emeralds shut out Dust Devils 3-0 in series opener

June 20, 2013

The Tri-City Dust Devils dropped their second consecutive game Thursday, getting shut out by the Eugene Emeralds 3-0 at PK Park.

The Ems got a second consecutive strong start from Yimmi Brasoban, who hurled five shutout innings, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out five for the win.

Tri-City lefty Jason Aquino pitched well but was victimized by a two-run double by Ryan Miller in the fourth inning and a lack of offensive support. Aquino went six innings allowing three hits, three walks and three runs.

Patrick Hutcheson had two of the Dust Devils’ four hits.

The second of this five-game series starts at 7:05 p.m. today at PK Park.
