Interagency task force arrests 20 in Grant County During past five days

A interagency task force has arrested 20 fugitives in Grant County since Monday.

The task force -- comprising U.S. Marshals, Grant County Sheriff's deputies and Moses Lake officers -- targeted fugitives with high level felony warrants, a release from the sheriff's office said. Deputies from Benton County and Spokane also assisted.

Those arrested from Othello were: Jesse Mata, 25, on suspicion of driving while suspended; Noel M. Mata, 21, warrant; Alejandro M. Mata, 23, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine; Thomas L. Garza, warrant; and Pablo Mendoza Jr., 21, warrant.

Kayla J. Ortiz, 23, of Moses Lake, was arrested on a Franklin County warrant for suspicion of theft.

The others arrested were from Moses Lake, Quincy, Soap Lake and Ephrata.

The task force focused on fugitives in Grant County and some in Othello, the release said. A U.S. Border Patrol helicopter provided support for law enforcement during the sweep.
