Tri-City HeraldJune 19, 2013

— Police are investigating a possible homicide after a tow truck driver on Tuesday discovered a body inside the trunk of a burned vehicle belonging to a missing Prosser man.

The body was found on South Emerald Road in Sunnyside after a tow company was called to remove a burned car, according to a news release from the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office. The car is registered to Preston Yahne, 22, who was reported missing by family Sunday.

The tow truck operator saw what looked like a skull in the trunk after loading it onto the truck, the release said.

The whole body was found in the trunk, said sheriff’s office spokesman Stewart Graham.

The body has not been positively identified and a cause of death has not been determined. The Yakima County coroner is examining the body to make a positive identification.

Anyone with information should contact the sheriff’s office at 509-574-2500.
