Umatilla Landing Days to celebrate the city's history

Umatilla Landing Days, an annual event that celebrates the history of the city, is scheduled for June 22.

Things kick off at 7:30 a.m. with the McNary Dam Run at Spillway Park at McNary Lock and Dam, on the Oregon side of the Columbia River.

A fireworks show wraps up the day’s events starting at nightfall. Most events will be held at the Umatilla Marina Park, 1710 Quincy, Umatilla.

Here’s the schedule:

7:30 a.m. McNary Dam Run. Money for the run will go to the local charity of your choice. Go to http://www.umatillaoregonchamber.org/umatilla_landing_days for an application. For more information, call Trish or Juan Martinez at 541-310-7492.

10:30 a.m. Umatilla Landing Days Parade. Lineup starts at 9:30 a.m. at Nugent Park and Eighth Street. The parade goes through Umatilla’s main street ending at Umatilla High School.

10 a.m. to dusk: Vendors, bus and boat tours of Olde Town Umatilla, museum tours at the Umatilla Museum, live musical entertainment and kids’ games. Boat tours are at the marina park. Bus tours can start at the marina park or at the Umatilla Museum on 6th Street, next to Napa Auto Parts. Cost is by donation.

1:40-2:10 p.m. Totally Kids
2:20-2:50 p.m. Umatilla Robotics
3-3:30 p.m. Round-Up City Cloggers
3:40-4:10 p.m. Family Tae Kwon Do
4:20-4:50 p.m. Umatilla City Performers
5-5:30 p.m. Ajih - singer
5:40-6 p.m. Angie - singer
6 p.m. David Parrish, country singer.
