Letter: Reader predicts that under Obamacare, treatment for conservative patients will be delayed

June 18, 2013

Who goes first?

Here's a scenario I believe is possible:

The IRS is now in charge of enforcing Obamacare. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has hand picked her panel to review medical care. We have two 75-year-old women with similar medical histories.

One is a liberal. One is a conservative. They both need the same life-saving procedure.

So their cases are brought before the board. I can hear them now. "This is a no-brainer," and the liberal gets the go ahead for the needed treatment, while the conservative gets notice that the panel needs more information before deciding her request.

Meanwhile, the board is hoping nature takes its course. As Sebelius just recently stated about the long wait for organ donations, "Some live and some die."

What better way to reduce the numbers of your perceived enemies!

Does anyone really think this could never happen?
