Mid-Columbia golfers to play at Washington State Am

Twelve golfers with Mid-Columbia ties begin play Tuesday at the 87th Washington State Men’s Amateur golf tournament at Chambers Bay in University Place.

The tournament runs for three days for 54 holes of stroke play.

There is a cut to the top 60 and ties after the first 36 holes.

Among those entered in the tournament Kennewick’s Nick Atkin, Riley Hayfield, Nick Mandell and Jack Tumlinson; Pasco’s Samson Martinez; Richland’s Tom DeForest, Dana Kain, Jeffrey Marcum and Tanner Martin; Walla Walla’s Ryan Baumgart; Moses Lake’s Cameron Whittle; and former Columbia Basin College star Dan Whitaker, now living in Ellensburg.
