Man injured in motorcycle accident near Dayton

June 15, 2013

— A 51-year-old man was injured Saturday afternoon when his motorcycle failed to negotiate a corner of Highway 261 about 19 miles north of Dayton, according to Washington State Patrol.

Ronald J. Chalich was driving his 2003 Harley Davidson fixed wing motorcycle north on Highway 261 at about 12:42 p.m.

After his motorcycle left the roadway, he was ejected from his motorcycle, the patrol said. He was wearing a helmet.

The motorcycle was totaled, and Chalich was transported to Dayton General Hospital.

His condition was not available.

Officials say Chalich’s speed allegedly was too fast for conditions, the patrol said, and charges are pending.
