Letter: State Constitution guarantees 'absolute freedom of conscience'

June 14, 2013

Regarding the letter, "Caeser's things" by Gordon Boone on May 28.

He incorrectly assumed that Caeser's law, which forbids discrimination in the marketplace, trumps the Washington State Constitution.

Article I, Section II entitled "Religious Freedom" states "Absolute freedom of conscience in all matters of religious sentiment, belief and worship shall be guaranteed to every individual, and no one shall be molested or disturbed in person or property on account of religion."
