Tri-City HeraldJune 13, 2013

A representative from a company looking to change nuclear energy will speak to the American Nuclear Society's Eastern Washington Chapter on Tuesday.

Roger S. Reynolds, senior technology adviser for Bellevue-based TerraPower LLC, will speak at the Shilo Inn, 50 Comstock Drive in Richland.

TerraPower was started in 2006 by a group including Microsoft founder Bill Gates. It is seeking to develop a safe, affordable, clean and secure nuclear power source.

The company's reactors, which use depleted instead of enriched uranium, are designed to go 40 to 60 years without refueling.

The meeting starts with a dinner at 6 p.m., with the program scheduled for 7 p.m. For dinner reservations, call 366-9632.
