June 10, 2013

— A woman driving a Ford Expedition on Monday afternoon on Interstate 82 lost control of her SUV, crossed all lanes of traffic and rolled in the median before hitting a westbound van, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Ma C. Cardenas, 42, of Paterson, was driving the Expedition east about 1:45 p.m.. She was injured and taken to Kennewick General Hospital. She had two children, ages 12 and 1, in the car with her and they too were taken to KGH, WSP said.

Cardenas’ SUV struck a GMC box van driven by Kimberly J. Taylor, 49, of Astoria, Ore. She was not injured, WSP said

WSP said inattention was the cause of the wreck and Cardenas could face negligent driving charges.
