Richland's Jacobs earns Pac-12 honors

Richland’s Brett Jacobs, a redshirt junior baseball player at Washington State, was named to the Pac-12 Conference All-Academic first team.

Jacobs, who was a first-team academic pick in 2011, carries a 3.61 GPA in accounting. He was one of four WSU baseball players selected to the team.

A pair of former Southridge standouts received honorable mention on the WSU track & field academic team: Andrew Gonzales on the men’s side and Andrea Smith on the women’s.

Gonzales, a redshirt junior, has a 3.10 GPA in psychology, while Smith, an undeclared sophomore, had a 3.70.
