Tour includes boat trip, tours of dam, museum

By the Herald staffJune 4, 2013

Take a day and explore our corner of the Mid-Columbia.

On June 15, climb aboard Columbia River Journey's jet boat at Columbia Point in Richland and cruise through the Wallula Gap to McNary Dam.

Bruce Bjornstad, a local authority on the Ice Age, will give a talk on the Ice Age Flood.

There will be a private tour of the dam, then the tour will continue on to Boardman, Ore., for lunch at the River Grill before heading to the new Port of Morrow's new Sustainable Agriculture and Energy (SAGE) Center in Boardman, an interactive visitors center dedicated to agriculture and energy.

For more information, and to reserve your spot, call the Hanford Reach Interpretive Center, 943-4100. Cost is $124.
