WorkSource holding grand reopening Wednesday in Kennewick

TRI-CITY HERALD STAFFJune 3, 2013

WorkSource Columbia Basin will hold a grand-reopening from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at its Kennewick office to celebrate a six-month effort to change how services are delivered to job seekers.

The new system will reduce wait times because job seekers will be able to make appointments for services. Follow up by WorkSource staff will increase, according to a news release.

And employers also will see higher-quality applicant pools, which officials say will help save them time and cut down on recruitment costs.

WorkSource also will be able to help eligible clients find self-sustaining employment through the Social Security Administration's Ticket-to-Work employment network.

And the Department of Social Health Services has recently given WorkSource a grant to help low-income families with children who want to apply or continue enrollment in the Children's Health Insurance Program.

WorkSource Columbia Basin is at 815 N. Kellogg, Suite D, in Kennewick.
