Kennewick — A teen suspected of vandalizing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Kennewick could face criminal charges from the Benton County Prosecutors Office.
A group of veterans noticed graffiti on the memorial when they visited the site at the base of the cable bridge on Memorial Day, Kennewick police Crime Prevention Specialist Mike Blatman said.
A 16-year-old male confessed to the graffiti after police identified him as a suspect, Blatman said. The teen wrote a letter of apology following the confession.
The prosecutors office is reviewing the case to decide if it will file charges.
