Local Red Cross volunteer headed to Oklahoma

— A local Red Cross volunteer is scheduled to deploy early Saturday to Oklahoma to help after Monday’s deadly tornadoes.

Zonia Quero-Ziada of Kennewick also has helped at many local, regional and national disasters, including Hurricane Sandy, the Benton-Franklin chapter of the American Red Cross said in a news release.

Other local volunteers may also be deployed at some point, the release said.

To donate to the Red Cross, go to www.redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or text REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10. Contributions also may be mailed to the local chapter at 7202 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick WA 99336m, or the national American Red Cross at P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.
