Two Hermiston women arrested in connection with counterfeit ring

Tri-City HeraldMay 24, 2013

— Two Hermiston women were arrested on forgery charges after police say they were involved in a counterfeit ring that produced fake payroll checks.

The women were arrested by Hermiston police for allegedly making and passing the fake checks from several businesses, Hermiston Police Chief Jason Edmiston said. The arrests were a result of nearly a month long investigation.

Brianna Marie Roach, 19, and Alexandra Maria Rogers, 22, were arrested Thursday and booked into the Umatilla County jail.

Several computer items were taken by police from a Hermiston apartment following the arrests.

Police believe the ring may have spread into other communities and want people to be on the look out for the fake checks with Becker Construction, USA Subs & Grill and Bealls names on them, Edmiston said.

The investigation remains open and there may be additional arrests soon.
