The executive director of Habitat for Humanity Tri-Cities is retiring and the agency is seeking a new leader to take her place.
Theresa Richardson, who has held the post since 2004, will step down at the end of June. Its been a tremendous growth opportunity for me personally and a sense of great satisfaction to see what has been accomplished with a dedicated staff and willing volunteers, she said in a statement. Its time to pass the baton for someone else to experience the joy of being involved with the worthy mission of Habitat for Humanity.
During Richardsons tenure, the local Habitat organization has gone from building one home a year to six or seven, said Merle Johnson, board president. Its also opened its Habitat Store and started holding IMPACT days in which repairs and improvements are made at existing homes, he said.
Im very appreciative of how dedicated Theresa has been. Shes been a great voice for Habitat in the community, Johnson said.
Executive director applications should soon be posted on Habitats website, www.habitatbuilds.com.
