Police: Alcohol, speed factors in Mattawa collision

— Alcohol and speed were factors in an early morning collision Monday in Mattawa that left three men with serious injuries, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Edilberto Raymundo-Manuel, of Bremerton, was driving on Road S Southwest around 5:30 a.m., when his Honda Accord crossed the center line and struck Jesus Chavez’s Dodge Stratus, according to the sheriff’s office. Chavez was on his way to work.

Both men were taken by ambulance to Kadlac Medical Center in Richland. A male passenger in Raymundo-Manuel’s car was flown to Kadlec.

All three men are in critical condition, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office Motor Traffic Unit is investigating the collision.
