Letter: Mexico's drug war deserves more media attention

May 20, 2013

Regarding the recent editorial cartoon focusing on 70,000 people killed in Syria.

We should be far more concerned about the 70,000 people killed next door in the war between the drug lords and the government of Mexico. There already are signs that the war is spilling over into our country.

Presidents past and present have had much to say about the horrors of the war in the Middle East, but very little to say about the desperate situation facing the Mexican government.
