Students honored at CBC art show

The Columbia Basin College Student Juried Art Show honored several students with awards in 2-D design, painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture/3-D design and illustration/graphics.

2-D design: Lydia James, first place; Brian Robbins, second place; Ryan Engel, third place.

Painting: Amanda Barrett, first; Maggie Hollick, second; Ana Cartagena, third.

Drawing: Jacki Linja, first; Shawn Matthews, second; April Wood, third.

Ceramics: Ulf Landkoff, first; Ramon Romero, second; Ray Lechelt, third.

Sculpture/3-D design: Chris Cannon, first; Leigh Williams, second; Jessica Marchand, third.

Illustration/graphics: Brittney Fisher, first; Fabian Rico, second; Majesta Vestal, third.

The juror’s award went to Jacki Linja. The faculty award went to Kristen Litters. The community award went to Jordan Condray.

The dean’s award went to Jamie Robles.

The foundation purchase award went to Fabian Rico. The gallery purchase award went to April Wood and Paige Maxwell. The CBC student body award went to Ulf Lanekoff and Jacki Linja.

The artwork remains on exhibit in the Esvelt Gallery on the CBC campus through May. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Admission is free.
