Carbon capture and storage will be discussed at a meeting of the Eastern Washington Chapter of the Certified Hazardous Materials Managers.

Tom Brouns, a market sector manager at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, will talk Thursday about the advances being made in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from power generation. Progress has been made at PNNL in reducing the cost of carbon capture and demonstrating permanent and safe storage of carbon dioxide.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. in Conference Rooms A and B at the Richland Public Library.
