Senate committee to consider B Reactor bill

By the Herald staffMay 15, 2013

The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee will consider a bill today to create a Manhattan Project National Historical Park that would include Hanford's B Reactor.

The next step would be consideration by the full Senate.

The bill was introduced by Sens. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., and Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., with the support of Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash.

A similar House bill, introduced by Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., has passed out of committee.
