GIRLS BASKETBALL: Liberty Christian hires coach

May 13, 2013

Liberty Christian hired Angel Ojeda as its new girls basketball coach last week.

Ojeda grew up in northern Minnesota and attended college at Bemidji State University, where she graduated with a dual degree in Math and Computer Science, played on the women's basketball team, and ran track and field.

After college, she worked for IBM in Rochester, Minn., for five years as a computer programmer before relocating to the Tri-Cities in 1992.

She has a passion for coaching basketball and has 11 years basketball coaching experience, having coached middle school, freshmen, JV and Varsity teams, as well as coaching several AAU teams over the years.

While raising her three children, A.J. , Gina, and Isaiah, she obtained her teaching degree and spent seven years teaching math in the Richland School District.

She currently works with Luis, her husband of almost 27 years, for his government contracting company in Richland.
