Former West Richland councilwoman to run for mayor

May 13, 2013

— Nancy Aldrich, a former West Richland councilwoman, announced today that she will run for West Richland mayor.

Aldrich, who has been involved in West Richland politics off and on for about 15 years, said in a statement that she plans to emphasize the need to revitalize the city by making it a stopping point for Red Mountain winery visitors and focusing on the Van Giesen Street corridor.

Donna Noski, the current mayor, said earlier that she would not run for another four-year term. She turned the mayor position into a full-time job after eliminating the city manager/administrator when she was elected four years ago.

Aldrich will be running against current West Richland Councilman Brent Gerry, who announced earlier that he would seek the position.

For more election news, check back later. The filing period runs through Friday.
