Woman, child hurt after SUV blows tire, rolls near Richland

A Prosser woman and child were injured when a tire blew on the SUV she was driving and the car rolled over Sunday evening.

Jessica Garza, 31, was driving east on Interstate 82 near Richland when the right rear tire of the SUV blew out near Exit 102, according to the Washington State Patrol. She lost control of the car, and it rolled over in the median at 6:10 p.m.

Garza and a child in the car, Maria Roman, 8, were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. Both were wearing seat belts.
