Letter Best: 4-letter words

May 12, 2013

It seems as though many people have forgotten how to speak English. Go to a movie or listen to the TV or radio and much profanity is used.

When I was a kid, using bad language brought the immediate cleansing of one's mouth. This was usually in the form of soap. I remember that one time my mom caught me using bad language and the soap treatment was very effective. Sometimes I still think I'm blowing soap bubbles when speaking.

As I have grown older, I notice that the usage of 4-letter words has increased in the past few years. Many of us nice old guys shy away from using 4-letter words such as "work." We prefer 3-letter words such as "nap."

Please don't wake me up from my favorite 3-letter word.
