4 winners named at Flame Off event

By the Herald staffMay 9, 2013

The Flame Off competition, held in Richland last month, named four winners of the glass artists' event.

Filla John X Brando from Spokane took first place for his wine glass. CJ Freestone from Richland and Halley Martin from Omak earned a second-place win for their car. The only part of the car that was not made from glass was the frame. Smolder Holder and Alex Garvie, both from Richland, earned a third-place win for their marble stand, and Doc and Badger from Spokane took fourth place for their glass boat.

The winners received prize packages or cash awards from glassblowing companies.

Flame Off organizer Chris Barwick said the event will return to the Tri-Cities next year.
