Baseball: Tolcacher leads Prosser past Ellensburg

May 8, 2013

Prosser 7, Ellensburg 1: After how bad the Mustangs played Saturday, they needed a big performance from Jake Tolcacher on the mound Wednesday in a Class 2A District 5/6/7 elimination game on the road.

Tolcacher came through, throwing a complete game to lead Prosser past Ellensburg, ending the Bulldogs’ season in the process.

“Jake was dealing today,” Prosser coach Kevin Cole said. “He was just lights out. Had command of all three pitches, we played good defense behind him and battled at the plate. It was a fun day.”

Prosser (15-6) will play West Valley at 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson-O’Brien Stadium in Ephrata with a state berth on the line.

The Mustangs, who lost to Ellensburg 16-2 and 15-13 on Saturday, were sharp in all facets on this day.

Colby White banged out three doubles and scored three runs, while Tolcacher struck out six and walked none.
