Potato pest management training planned June 3

By The Tri-City HeraldMay 8, 2013

The Washington State Potato Commission will provide free Integrated Pest Management supplies to Washington potato growers, including those in the Columbia Basin.

The targeted approach to pest management combines tactics to help keep pest numbers and disease pressure low, according to a news release.

Free hands-on training on how to identify insects will be from 2:30 to 5 p.m. June 3 at 2621 Ringold Road in Eltopia.

To request supplies, receive help with identification, or for more information, contact Raina Spence, the commission's director of industry outreach at 509-765-8845 or rspence@potatoes.com.
