Richland VA clinic seeks cleaning supplies for veterans

Richland's Veterans Affairs Clinic is accepting donations to help with the agency's VA2K fitness initiative and housing program.

The clinic, on the second floor of the Federal Building at 825 Jadwin Ave., is seeking cleaning supplies such as brooms, sponges and buckets through Friday to help support homeless veterans. The items are used to help veterans moving from homelessness into housing with help from the VA.

For information, call 946-1020.

Friday also is the day of the VA2K walking event, which helps homeless veterans and encourages VA employees and veterans to improve their fitness. The walk is in Walla Walla, where the regional VA hospital is. People participating in the walk also are asked to donate a cleaning item.
