The Mid-Columbia chapter of the National Fragile X Foundation is seeking sponsors for its first Hike for Hope.

The foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to raising money for and awareness of the fragile X genetic syndrome.

The syndrome often causes intellectual disability, anxiety, hyperactive behavior and attention deficit disorders in individuals.

The Hike for Hope is June 1 on Badger Mountain Trail in Richland.
