Letter: Gender-neutral terms not the big problem in Olympia

May 5, 2013

I was so happy to hear the news about some of the legislators and the governor working hard with a very small, but loud, group who want to change the English language to be gender neutral. Of course these changes will only apply in the State of Washington. We will now not have fishermen, wharehousmen, policemen, cowboys, cowgirls, a chairman, a foreman etc. I don't know if there will be a woman or women group. What an idiotic idea.

When will they devote more time to finding a solution for funding education. Some one needs to pull their head out of the sand and wake up to what is important.
