Applications due today for college scholarship

By The Tri-City HeraldMay 3, 2013

Applications are due today for the David Q. Hernandez Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship is awarded to two high school students planning to attend a community college or university in Washington this fall.

The scholarship is named for David Hernandez, a Washington State University graduate who died in 2005 in a car accident.

The money for the scholarships is raised during an annual baseball tournament, sponsored by the Upsilon Alumni Association of the Omega Delta Phi fraternity at Washington State University.

The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. May 18 at Sunnyview Park off of the Yakima Valley Highway, Sunnyside. Cost is $200 per team.
