Dutch Bros. to donate today's proceeds to MDA

By the Herald staffMay 3, 2013

All Dutch Bros. Coffee locations in seven states are donating all of today's proceeds to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

In the Tri-Cities, Dutch Bros. Coffee is at 4305 W. Clearwater Ave., Kennewick; 731 N. Columbia Center Blvd., Kennewick; 3 W. Columbia Drive, Kennewick; and 6609 Burden Blvd., Pasco.

The event is the start of ALS Awareness Month.

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a disease that affects the nervous system. There is no cure and most victims die within three to five years.

Dutch Bros. co-founder Dane Boersma was diagnosed with ALS in 2005 and died in 2009.

Last year, Dutch Bros. locations in seven states raised $174,000.
