— A 53-year-old man was arrested early Thursday morning after breaking into a portable classroom at Ochoa Middle School.

Pasco police were called to the school at 1801 E. Sheppard St. just after midnight when the alarm system was tripped, according to a release. James L. Colbert of Pasco was found in the portable building and arrested without incident.

Pasco Assistant Superintendent John Morgan told the Herald staff are cleaning up and repairing damage from a broken window Colbert allegedly used in the break-in. A document camera in the classroom was shifted during the incident but Morgan said it wasn't damaged.

Students who use the classroom were shifted to another classroom until repairs could be completed.

Colbert was booked into the Franklin County Corrections facility under suspicion of commercial burglary.
