Walla Walla County seeks volunteers for advisory baord

WALLA WALLA -- Walla Walla County is seeking applicants for five openings on its Human Services Advisory Board.

The board is responsible for determining health needs and setting priorities for services with the Department of Human Services.

It also works to evaluate and monitor the Department of Health Service's mental health, chemical dependency, developmental disabilities and poverty plans.

Applicants should have experience with these issues. At least one-quarter of the board must be made up of people who have recovered from a drug or alcohol dependency.

Board members must be residents of Walla Walla County, be willing to attend monthly afternoon meetings and have no personal financial interest in the county's programs.
