Five people were injured at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday when two trucks and an SUV collided on Highway 395, eight miles north of Pasco, the Washington State Patrol said.

A 2002 International semi-truck driven by Rodney P. Funk, 52, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, slowed to turn into a scale house when it was struck from behind by a 2013 International semitruck driven by Richard Beusekom, 41, of Fort McLeod, Ala., the state patrol said.

Beusekom's truck then struck a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban being driven south by Shannon B. Naylor, 37, of Spokane, state police said.

Naylor and his four passengers -- Douglas H. Allen, 47, of Spokane; Brent C. Kyle, 43, of Spokane; Angelian E. Gray, 39, of Spokane Valley; and Jesse R. Mazulo, 25, of Colber; were all injured and taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center, officers said.
