Letter: Reach in your wallet and save Vista Youth Center

April 29, 2013

It was with great sadness that I read of the closing of Vista Youth Center. Then I got angry. We as a community cannot allow this to happen, we must stand up for the LGBT youth of the Tri-Cities.

According to VYC’s Facebook they need about $75,000 a year. That sounds like a lot of money, but it would only take 1,500 people pledging $50 a year to make it happen. That’s only $4.17 a month — less than one cup of coffee. Surely there are enough people willing to give up one measly cup of coffee to keep this important community resource open.
