Softball: Wenatchee Valley sweeps Columbia Basin

Wenatchee Valley swept Columbia Basin 4-0 and 7-4 in an NWAACC East doubleheader Saturday in Pasco.

The Hawks played well throughout against the No. 1 team in the East. Ashlen Ayres (Kennewick) had a double in the opener for the Hawks (20-16, 11-9), while Brenda Rodriguez (Othello) was 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs in the nightcap.

Hailey Bator was 4-for-4 with two doubles in the opener and pitched a shutout in the circle for Wenatchee Valley (34-3, 21-1).

Bailey Walthers (Richland) was 1-for-2 with two RBIs in the second game for CBC.

Yakima Valley 9-3, Walla Walla 7-11: Connell graduate Kate Hawk was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Warriors in the nightcap of an NWAACC East doubleheader in Walla Walla.

Hermiston grad Cheyanne Lawson added a pinch-hit double, while Walla Walla alum Paige Pontarolo was 1-for-3 with an RBI double.
