Explosive device found on road near Boardman

BOARDMAN -- Police are investigating the discovery of an explosive device Saturday.

The Oregon State Police Bomb Squad disabled the device, found on Oregon Trail Boulevard south of Interstate 84, with a robot.

Officials said people would have been injured if the device exploded, according to a release.

An official with the Boardman Police Department declined to comment further on the case.

The investigation into the device is ongoing. Authorities encourage people to call 911 if they see suspicious items or individuals.
