Two Zillah residents injured in I-82 crash

Tri-City HeraldApril 27, 2013

— A man was ejected from a car during a rollover crash on Interstate 82 on Saturday morning.

Alfonso Arrendondo, 49, along with driver Irma Arredondo, 41, both of Zillah, were taken to Prosser Memorial Hospital, according to a release from Washington State Patrol. Their status was not immediately available.

Irma Arredondo was driving a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle eastbound on the highway just a few miles east of Prosser when the vehicle drifted onto the shoulder. She over corrected, causing the car to roll over into the median, ejecting Alfonso Arredondo. Only Irma Arredondo was wearing a seat belt during the crash.

The car was totaled and state patrol officials determined the cause of the crash to be inattention.
