Mixed Breed highlights Sun Downs races

April 26, 2013

Action resumes at Sun Downs race track in Kennewick today with an eight-race card.

First post is at 1 p.m.

Compared to the kickoff of the meet last weekend and next weekend’s big-race blowout, this weekend’s cards for both today and Sunday will be a little tamer.

But the big race today will be the seventh-race Sun Downs Mixed Breed Memorial at 880 yards.

Of the five horses entered, four are thoroughbreds running at an in-between distance.

The one quarterhorse, however, is a dandy in Yin Your Eyes, owned and trained by Kennewick’s Bill Hoburg.

The 6-year-old won the $125,000 Red Cell Distance Challenge Championship at 870 yards at Los Alamitos back in October of 2011.

Trey Fecta

Trey had a rough first weekend.

That original imaginary bankroll of $300? It’s now down to $172.20. Let’s get it back!

Today in the first race, we’re picking Runnin Ona Dream for the first half of the Daily Double. We’ll also box a trifecta of Running Ona Dream, Fatgirlsneedluvintoo and Kevins Last Shot.

Marshland gets the call in the second for the second half of the DD, plus we’ll take $5 across the board on him.

In the third it’s a boxed exacta of Varro and Kipas Ace.

For the fourth, we’ll bet a $5 quinella of Justbrown and Sentimento.

We’ll take $5 across the board on Notes of Freedom in the fifth.

Strawberry Topper gets the call in the six, and we’ll bet $10 to win on him.

We’ll go with Enterprise Zone for the first half of the Late Double, and we’ll box a trifecta of Enterprise Zone, Swiss Ace and Yin Your Eyes.

We’ll take $10 to win on Mamoonya and make it the second half of the Late Double.

That’s $75 in wagers.
