WSU Tri-Cities official named United Way volunteer of year

LoAnn Ayers, director of campus advancement at WSU Tri-Cities, has been named the 2012 Distinguished Volunteer of the Year by United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties.

Ayers has served on the United Way board of directors since 2007, dedicating herself to working to meet community needs in the areas of education, health, safety and self-sufficiency.

Beverly Weber, United Way's president and CEO, said Ayers is "someone who is a powerful force for positive change" and "a strong believer in and profound force behind the success of our Community Solutions work."
